Bout 6 months.

Personally I would always work them on a big hog.

Dont let them get too gritty...(not like you can help that really) but once they have confidence....put them on a big pig so they know they can get their butt kicked.

Also.....once they have matured. Do not pen males together. Both breeders I got pups from told me that and I learned the hard way. They may get along for a year but they will eventually fight....and it is not a pissing match...it is a fight.

My experience with Jagds are only bout a year and half  and only with my personal dogs. So this may not be in general.
