I'd like to hear one explain why.

Just like WAARHEID said... they could loose there job from what I understand. Their job is to enforce the law... not advise it.

Maybe some of our LEO members can elaborate on this???

It is as important to advise the law as to enforce it.  i work for the sheriff's dept,  we have people who we deal with who are know it alls and say their gonna do this or do that, we have to explain the law to them and the consequences they could face.
