In my opinion, its a different kind of fun. If you have never tried it... try it... atleast once.
There is some thing about kind of sneaking up in there on a bayed hog, not caught, and positioning yourself for a good shot. I have had more close call hunting like that than with catch dogs.
Also, if the hog is in no hurry, you can post up and watch the dogs work.
That is my all time favorite hunting... bay dogs, gun, early morning, grain season.
