cut down on the seconds feeding    I dont really believe their is an alternative.   Although have seen ,instead of spinner feeders, different self-made hog feeders where you take a big hard plastic drum put some holes in it, fill it with corn and attach it by chain to a t-post driven into the ground so hogs could roll it around a get a little bit of corn out of it.
