This is what i've always told new folks getting into hog hunting... they always get bulldogs first.

Part of it in my opinion :

They are easier to find, cheeper, readly avaliable,  very little to no training necessary, higher success rate with less work, time, money and effort to have a successful catch dog , the adrenalin rush some guys get from thier dog catching, not to mention  some high levels of testrone   
I just love the names of some bulldog fellers kennels.. lol
