I can't speak about where they are in Texas.  I live in Southwest Oklahoma, and porcupines are all over the place here.  If you don't have porcupines in your area & you run hogdogs, then you oughta hum a few bars of "Jesus Loves Me" because you're blessed.

It's hard to get upset at the dogs for hitting the things.  It's no wonder the dogs wanna put their mouths on em.  The whole time we were pulling quills last night, my hunting buddy and I were just shaking our heads because those dogs smelled like they'd just tangled with a boar hog.  They smell like a hog, they kinda look like a little hog, it's not hard to understand why most hogdogs will nail one everytime. 

The dogs will be fine.  They'll be sore for a while, but they'll be alright.
