If you are talking about a true american stafordshire terrier as opposed to a american stafordshire
bull
terrier then I would think you would have a good chance at a decent dog. The Am staff is basically (or originally intended as the AKC version of the american pitbull terrier) so it should be similar in conformation etc and probabally less apt to dog aggresion. If it is a staffy bull then it may be a bit on the small side as a real big male would be 40#s or so.
