i was born and raised in texas but lived in nz for a while. the main reason they dont use holders is because of the terrain. alot of times you have to walk 2 miles up and down hills to get to a bay. so its a pain to lead a dog that far and if you use running catch dogs you have to expect them to hold hours. alot of dogs over there are collies. mainly because theyre sheep/hog dogs.
