Bryant,
One thing that I have noticed in hunting with some other people, is how competitive they are. It is either how good their dogs are, trash talking other dogs, every person for themselves while getting to the bay. Some of my good friends are like this, consequently, I do not hunt with them. Still my friends, but not hunting buds.
When we hunt, it is a group of friends in the woods. If we get a hog, that is icing on the cake. If a dog screws up, we recognize it, but we don't give the owner of that dog a bunch of crap ( if that did happen, I would not be able to hunt with them anymore
) When heading to the bay, we try to make sure that people are not left behind getting up a creek bank, or some other obstacle.
On this particular hog, there were two parties that would have liked to take the hog home. No arguing, we figured that the person that guessed the weight closest would take home the hog. Worked well, no hurt feelings, and we loaded the hog up, and went out to dinner at the local Applebee's for another round of BS'ing
