sc. moutain huntin is verydemanding physicly.all of our hunting is done on foot.we usualywalk dogs in to an area that might hold hogs and i should stress might.sometimes we free cast that area or maybe start them on a track.you have to remember if you send them and then find sign you aint got any dogs til they come back.we have 2 or 3 people bring dogs. they range from plotts curs and some bird bulls maybe a hound cur cross and atleast 1 walk in catch dog.a race can be seconds to an hour.wellthe race itself might not be an hour but the trip to the bay is.sometimes you can hear the bay dogs realy sounding frantic but your only able to make it 20 or30 feet at atime.your heart is pounding in your head and yur sucking air legs are screemin suckin swett up ur nose but you realy wanna catch that hog bad.its not wise to send in the bull til your sure you can get there shortly.u make the catch kill the hog then you gotta drag it out of those same hills you just came in from.we might hunt 2 or 3 hunts and not get on a hog. usualy just catch 1 caught 2 once.you gotta find the hogs.if they aint there you cant catchem.if u can make a good dog up here hes real good.we can go dwn state and do much better.but its like 4to5hrs.if you dont luv it you want do it and i cant get enough! johnf
