But trying to compare labs to bulldogs is like compareing good whiskey to 3 day old tea.  They are both drinks but are totally different.  A bulldogs intensity is 5 fold to that of a labs and yes i have been around duck dogs.  I believe in good handle but dont think there is enough handle in the world for some catch dogs they just are that intense when it comes to catching a hog and hardheaded they will revert back to whining and that constantly telling them to shut up is a pain in the rear
i'm not saying a lab is the same as a bulldog.  but there drive can be just as hard.  if you've ever trained any labs from trial bred parents they are very driven more than some of the bulldogs i've seen other people own.  when it comes down to it, it's still no different than breakin that same dog from jerkin your arm off when you're leading it to a bay.   how do ya'll get around that behavioral problem?
