Well to say this past Deer Season will be one to remember would be a understatement.. Little to my knowledge did I realize that this deer season was almost my last when I started it back in Oct on one of my leases in Oklahoma during muzzleloader season.. To make a long story as short as I can make it,,, Oct 30th 2023 will be a day I wont never forget,,
Me, My son and My Brother were approached by 5 tresspassers on one of our hunting leases that evening and it went from bad to worse.. Thanksto the Lord up above my son and brother were not hurt but I ended up being shot in the throat by one of them with his pistol/ Both me and my son returned fire on the shooter after he shot me and was able to end that threat... Too say the Lord up above didnt have his hand in it doesnt do it justice because the bullet that hit me split and missed my juglar on both sides but went thru my wind pipe ,, it then broke my first rib and lodged in my bracial plex in my shoulder .. without hitting that artery either in which either would have not been recoverable... It took med flight 1hr and 15 min to get to me and then another hr to fly me to Plano Texas where I stayed in ICU for 9 days but made it out ...
I cant tell yall how good it feels to be able to type this knowing that I can share another Christmas with my family and another hog season just coming up.. Dont take it for granted fellers LIFE,, we dont know whos around the corner who wants to take it from you .... Yall have a good Christmas and a Happy New year..

Dang Highwater, I’m sorry to hear about all that but I’m sure happy the good guys won! I preach daily around here about that very thing. Don’t put off spending time with your loved ones and telling them you love’em every chance you get because you don’t know when your number is up. People are flat crazy anymore. I’m sure glad we’ll get to read some more about you and your hog killing machines.

Sure glad you made it if just barely, and glad y’all was able to get the situation corrected…literally

So glad you are recovering. When Wesley told me about it, that it literally puts you in shock on the what ifs. So glad you will be home for Christmas.
