We caught a good spotted boar today, half mile race and a hard hard bay. Sounded good riding to them, got there and they were in a small slough that was overgrown in some kind of bushes. I told Adam we're gonna have to get wet. Water was just about half knee deep. I wallowed around under and over those limbs and got close enough to stick him clean, close quarters, came to his head with nothing but Ol'Grip to keep him off of me.
Couldn't even get a good picture, but he was bigger than the other 2 we recently caught probably 200 lbs. with just a little more tooth. The old pup that wants to be rough was bayed solid and tight but not trying to catch. That's 3 decent boars in a row, they seem to come in spurts for us. We sent the dogs on and did mash 5 pigs though, I don't  like getting in pigs.

Having a big dogo holding them in situations like that beats my little 42lb pit ear ring...

The words “riding to them”  has me jealous. Haven’t gotten to go hunting horse back in some time. Sounds like the dogs had it on their mind.

Glad to hear that pup is thinking. Climbing through the brush and water could test a fellers conditioning.

Riding hunting adds to the sport for me, we ride mules to hunt, horses for cow penning and catching. Don't always ride to hunt but ride alot.

The old pup may have started learning to weigh them.

Times like today is why I haven't ever broke him to release on command, sure wouldn't want him to think I or someone else asked him to release. Now I stuck that hog today and when one dies he'll let go on his own.
