Been going here pretty regularly. Weather has been nice and cool. Been catching a few but nothing with much size. Went Friday 12/15 and caught four and went have day on sat 12/16 and caught two more. Mostly 80-100# small boars and sows. This is the best one of the weekend and I would say dogs did pretty good on it, so Ill share the story. Came by at 2:30 or so in the afternoon. One of the cur dogs opened up a little on top of the box so i got out and saw a pretty decent track in the road. Turned 2 cur dogs out and they shoot in the block about 400-500 yards. They are working for about 20 min, So the other guys with me go off and hunt another section. My two cur dogs work the track for about 45 minutes more on the track. About 3:30 my hunting buddies call and say they have one bayed ( i have the catchdog in my box) right at the same time my leopard dog comes bayed, I leave mine bayed and run over…about 2 miles away and we catch there hog….nice sow about 120# (no pics). My dog has been bayed about an hour or so now. Walk in with the bulldog and the hog is bayed in the rough in a blowdown from Helene. It breaks 2 more times in 2 more blowdowns before we seal the deal. Decent boar with what ended up only ½ of one ear. Hence the bulldog having a hard time. Pics of the boar and the new hound in training learning to ride on the box. Thanks for looking Lynel Sent from my Acer Chromebook 15 (CB5-571, C910) using Tapatalk

Thank you.
He won't be a year old till next month, so he has a long way to go. But he is getting the hang of it. He seems to have a good nose.

Nice dog work indeed. Don’t get many easy tracks at 2:30 PM. It’s also a good feeling to have enough confidence in your dogs to leave em bayed to go catch another one first. Good job all the way around!

Do you think he’s going to be pretty salty on a hog or too early to tell?

You have to have border collie and lab in your dogs. I can’t get over how similar they look to our dogs.

Sounds good. Takes a pretty good cur dog to take a track that time of the afternoon. Good hunt.

Thomas, I think its too early to tell. He isi absolutly slower maturing than the my cur dogs. But I knew that going in with the guy that has been breeding them. 2 of his littermates have been messed some with in the pen and are farther a long baying. I dont like to mess with my dogs in a pen and prefer to ease them into the woods.
I haventy been taking much photos here the last couple of years been slacking. Going to try and take more pictures and post more here.
