I was wondering if they would make a good catch dog, There is one locally here that is free and he is a big ole boy at least 120 pounds.

If you search Cane Corso there are a few more threads to read through. I have never hunted one but they are damn big dogs!

As for the free dog I would check him out as far as temperment and if he has any experience with hogs and other dogs being that he is full grown already. Worth a shot!!

there are some guys up here had one a few years back i was just around him on one hunt, they kept a muzzle on him looked like Hanble lecktor , scared the crap out of me.
he would kill another dog in a hurry they said, i left my dog in the truck . he would catch the hog when bayed they said if no hog he might kill a dog  Shocked, i would not have a dog with a temperment like that for nothing. thats why we only hunted together that one time  Grin

this is my only experence with that breed so dont go off what i say. just what i have seen with my own eyes.

My corso has the best temperment and intelligence I have ever seen in a catch dog.  He also catches as good as I've ever seen.  He is a little big for the thickets though.

you should get him if for nothing else just to breed him to a dogo pit or cur, if you could get the size down a bit and priced right the pups would sell quick and make some good cd's and guard dogs. .02
