A year old first time in the woods done great went with the find dog every were step for step found and bayed with the find dog .  Second time out done great again but got cut bad bad bad nearly bled out .  Got over that real good.  Next time out got on a big big big big bad bad boar hog she comes out of the bay and just acted like she had no desire no intrest !  Now this was a bad bad boar hog that broke my bulldogs jaw and yanked all his teeth out .

Next time out again no interest again ?

Bred second to none hog dogs from top to bottom and bottom to top, front to back , back to front  and I mean great ones !

So now what do you do are would you do ?

Personally, I'd put the dog up for a while.

x2 plus give her a little break.  She will be back on track.  That first cut always determines a dog to me.

Exactly.. Give the dog a little while to get over it. At a year old they still a pup..

Defenitely give the dog a break... then, as everybody else said try and build the dog back up with easy hogs.

Another reason to be careful what older dogs you run a young dog with...  I've been trying to let my young dogs learn on their own, rather than allowing a more advanced dog to put them into a situation they ain't ready for as yours wasn't...

... takes a dog longer to figure things out like this, but I feel they, more often than not, are able to bay hogs they can handle... progressively more difficult hogs each time...

The question was "what would you do" and i am being dead serious and hope you try it. Forget about the woods with her for 90 days, maker her your pet and take her with you as often as you can when its pheasable. Bathe her down, slip her a piece of bacon every now and then,HECK JUST DOWN RIGHT SPOIL HER. You will be pleasantly surprised when u take her back to the woods or even a baypen. She will without a doubt work and hunt for YOU,not for herself but for YOU. she has to trust that that is a team effort in the woods but you need to spend the time to form that bond and trust in her. Some may disagree or laugh and sometimes i dont feel some people deserve to hear strategies that have been tried and tested time and time again with positive results but i know you have been doing this a long time and for you to ask an opinion im sure your willing to try anything to get your little gyp back hunting. Good luck with her.

Had it happen about 5 years ago on a little female dog got to the bay and she was laying about 50 ft away and in bad shape, those of you that have had or seen this no what was wrong with her I don't need to say it on Ethd she was 7 months old that was her first hunt in the woods I put her up and didn't hunt her for a month because she was scared of the pigs after a month was up I put her in the bay pen with a 20 lbs pig it didn't take her long to get back at them pigs she never looked back one of my best dogs today and I thought I had ruined her  Azn
