ok so i hunt with mainly one person "lawlershogwildhunts".  We don't post many pictures or tell many stories becuase we just hunt to hunt and have fun.  We only get to hunt once maybe twice a week and VERY seldom leave empty handed.  i really can't remember the last time we left without at least one pig.  so anyways i liked this hunt so i figured i would share.  We have been hunting one place for the past two months, and have killed some good boars.  Well the land owner called us the other day and apparenlty a big boar had hit a nerve with him.  so I told Marty hey lets go give it a shot and see if we can get him.  We dropped dogs at about 8 on one side of the ranch and the dogs killed some little shoats before we could even get there.  so we packed up and moved to another field and nothing, packed up and moved to another and nothing.  By that time it was getting late (12 or so) and his wife as well as mine were ready to call it a night.  We started loading up the dogs that were around the truck while marty called his Blue Lacy named Blue.  He has been a pain the past few times and wont come back when he is called, so we figured it was going to be another night like that.  Marty was getting pretty mad and i think our wifes were about out, when we heard "Blue" and "Sadie" (a very young ybmc gyp)  open up.  Blue never ever opens his mouth unless he is face to face with a pig.  we let all the dogs out of the truck and they bolted straight to them.  of course the ladies suddenly had all this energy and we were running as fast as we could behind the dogs.  we got within about 20 yards of them and we could tell the catch dogs had him anchored pretty well.  Now this pig was letting out the most high pinched sound we have ever heard so we really figured it was a sow with past experiences on sounds, so we started to walk towards the catch.  Marty got there a bit earlier then me and all i could here him say was oh crap Matt i may need your help.  I put it in another gear and low and behold they had ole biggen anchored up.  We didn't get to weigh him becuase he was so far away before Blue bayed him but with our experience we would say he was close to 275.  he was the fatest and strongest boar we have caught at this place.  Marty and I are not very small guys and he gave us both a run for out money.  We were very proud of the dogs for such a long hunt and the pits for holding him long enough for our fat butts to get there.  Kai one of Marty's best catch dog was the only one cut pretty good, but he is just fine.  sorry for the long story but it was one of those one's you just had to be there.  We usually have it so much easier then that(kinda spoiled i guess).  Hog numbers were we hunt are through the roof.  all we could grab was the head so here is a picture.  we always plan on taking a camera but it never works right so it is from my phone.

Sounds fun and you a got a good looking set of teeth to go with the story...plus its always better when the ol' ladies are with you...can't get in trouble thataway

lol coach your telling me.  the sad thing is i run 2 to 3 miles a day on my lunch break and Marty is training for the SAFD right now, and we still can't shed them pounds.  oh how it sucks getting old.  lol. 

by the way "BA-IV" we don't hunt without the wives.  its a great thing to have.  i (we) are blessed.

Man took my wife one time and that was the last time. Dog had a good hog bayed up I thought we would catch it quick. Wife stayed in the truck the hog was just on the other side of the fence I crawled though and dropped my knife somewhere. Well hissed up Zena and she caught on command. I legged the hog and no knife I told my wife to let out the other two dogs and get my knife somewhere along the fence line. She didn't move towards me. By this time the dogs and I were catching hell and the hog started winning. I got a little louder this time and told her to bring my gun well I  caught her leaning out the window pistol in hand while I was legging the hog mind you. She motioned meto scoot over just a little so she could shoot the hog and was a good 30 yds away. Needless to say I let go of the hog and dove into the brush, yelling at her not to shoot thedogs were still on the hog. I was so pissed i finally found my knife and finished the hog loaded up everything and think it was two  days before I  said anything toher and the first thing she said was I don't know why your so mad I  could have hit him easily from the angle I had. LOL

So needless to say I would rather take my daughter thank my wife think she has another plan in mind of how to get rid of me. LOL
