Hello guys,

I am from Shreveport, LA. and hunt a good bit over in East Texas ( Sabine River Bottoms).  Look forward to talking with everyone and maybe a hunt or two in the future.  Anyone here hunt in these areas?

Thanks,

Joey

Good to have you jhy, I have a place to hunt in Linden which isn't too far from you.  That Sabine River bottom looks like a GOOD place to hunt, everytime I drive over it it looks piggy.

Thanks Gentlemen,

Mike, I wouldnt claim anyone from that neck of the woods! Grin  I really enjoy hunting with folks from that area.  Always plenty of memories made on hunts in the Dugdemona bottoms. I learned a lot from some fellas over there when I first started hunting. You make it over to that part of the country much?

Mr. Mason,

Good to hear from you as well.  Just got to busy to go to the woods as much as I like so now I have to quench my hog appetite by posting on the forums! lol  Rusty's Mom and sister have been putting a dent in the fox and coon population out at my Mom and Dads house.  I told them that they werent just cute little lap dogs! Grin  As far as the other littermates, they are solid little hunters and dont know what fear is.  The Mother to Rusty has also become a therapy dog for terminal patients at a nearby hospital.  Take it easy.

Thanks,

Joey

Joey, you're bringing back memories. I spent a lot time fishing in the Dugdemona and running through the woods catching snakes and sneakin' up on hogs with my two cousins when I was a kid.

That's where I first saw catahoula dogs, they just called them cur dogs. My cousin's dad's side of the family free-ranged hogs out there for generations. I loved to sit and listen to his grandpa tell us stories about the old days.  They still cut and marked hogs when I was in high school... then the state changed the range laws and hogs were open season.

Mike,

As always in LA., they can change the laws, but folks arent going to change what they do. We still catch a lot of marked hogs in that area.  Clay and Ellis, I hunt off hwy 43 on the Sabine, Potters Creek.  Slap full of hogs, but with work and the ever rising fuel prices I havent made it over there in a while.  If yall are ever over that way we need to try and line a hunt before the heat and mosquitos get unbearable.

Thanks,

Joey
