I GOT A 6 MTH OLD PUP THAT I HAVE ON THE IVOMEC AND SAFEGUARD. YOU JUST HAVE TO WATCH YOUR DOSAGE FOR THE SIZE OF PUP. ILL WORM 6 WEEK OLD PUPS WITH SAFEGUARD BUT I ONLY PUT A PEA SIZED DROP ON MY FINGER. MY 6 MTH OLD PUP GETS 1CC IVOMEC AND FOR SAFEGUARD, ABOUT AS MUCH TOOTHPASTE AS YOU WOULD PUT ON YOUR TOOTHBRUSH.

I give grown dogs 3 tenths of a 1cc, are you sure you give a full cc to a 6 month old pup? |

For dogs over 6 months 1/10 of a cc for every 20 lbs every month for the prevention of heartworms.
After puppies are weaned 1/10 of a cc per 30lbs until they reach 6 months. So says my vet. Lots of old timers around here give all their dogs 1 cc per month and have for years. I think this helps with other ailments and skin conditions, but is not necessary for the prevention of heartworms. The cattle liquid works well for me because you can get a more accurate dosage.
