Well I went and picked up Gringo from the sugar cane fields this afternoon. On my way back to town this guy I know calls and asked if I wanted to go run the dogs at his place. So I headed over there and turned the dogs loose. I heard Bella bayed, then I heard Gringo bayed off in the other direction. So I went to Gringo since he was closer and he has a sow about 120 pounds bayed. I couldn't believe it, this is his third time in the woods at six months old and he already found his own hog and has it bayed. Then I cut Doc loose and caught the sow and tied her. Headed towards Bella and she had a 50 pound shoat bayed in a flag pond. Caught that one and headed to the truck. Well, we were back at the truck and then we see the police helicopter, then it started circling us. He tried to get ahold of the guy who gave him permission but he didn't answer. So he called the ranch and grove sheriff, got ahold of him and he told us to come up the front. From what I could hear he was mad. I asked the guy I was with what was going on. He said the cops were out at the front and were pissed that we were trespassing. I wanted to beat the hell out of this guy, he lied to me and said he had permission to hunt what we were on when he only had about 10 acres he was allowed to trap on that is in the middle of the property. But anyways I just got reamed out a little bit, at least I didn't go to jail. Needless to say I wont be hunting with him anymore. But the story doesn't end...... On my way out on the paved road before I got to the highway, I stopped because I forgot to put my tailgate up. Some guy hauls a$$ from around the corner and blocks my truck in and comes up to my window. Asks me if I am missing something, keeps questioning me and I explained what happened. Told me to call the ranch and grove sheriff to come back so he can verify my story, he did and he told him i'm a good guy. Then he finally said he's been having alot of people on his place poaching and he caught one of their dogs that had a hog bayed. Then he offered me to hunt his 1000 acres, which surprised me. So in the end it turned out to be a pretty good night. Heres the sow  |

Wow, Great story!........ is that hog tied onto a police batton? Yeah, instead of finding a stick to drag it. You can do it with a nice little fold up baton. |

I had been tresspassing with a guy for over a year and didnt know it until we finally got busted.I explained to the game warden and PT.Neches police that the guy said he had permission but I knew he didnt believe me.I finally told the guy I was with that he better get to telling the truth about what was going on because he was going to have a long night in jail if they put us in the same cell.He did and the warden let me go with a warning but hammered the other idiot.Looking back I should have known because the places we were hunting were awesome and nobody else was ever out there.I am glad that deal worked out for you.

Yeah, I got a call yesterday afternoon and went and picked him up 5 miles from where we were hunting. |

JOhn sounds like a fun one! least you got some hogs and new permission. Always good not goin to jail. sounds like the dogs are doin good man!
