Stock  collie type dogs are commonly used either crossed or pure for "finding" hogs here in New zealand .Labs cross are also a common breed ,crossed with either a boxer ,bull mastiff,or some form of bull .I have a pit bull x lab bitch which can find a handy pig ...But she just doesn't know the word BAY!!!!!I'll dig out a picture as shes a very nice looking bitch which I will in time put to a heading dog (stock dog),these pups would be most suitable for type of hog hunting here .

I have talked with the people from Fredericksburg since we are neighbors and he is the REAL DEAL.   He hunts only labs and produces a lot of hogs!

I have an Aussie that is heck on wheels when it comes to hogs ! Climbed a 6ft holding pen to get to one when she was 6 months old! But its to hot for her here in TX for running hogs. We tried shaving her but the heat still was too much. It's a shame because she is gritty little girl!
