I went yesterday evening to set a hog trap a few miles from the house where a guy has been seing a lot of hogs in the edge of town. There was maybe ten acres of woods there that borders his place, so I started setting up the trap along the edge of those woods. My yard dog Kate and Buddy my cd that runs loose in the yard loaded in the stock trailer when I was loading the trap panels, so they were running around while I set the trap up. Kate started baying about 50 yd. inside the woods and it didn't take Buddy long to get there and catch. Kate went with some of the hogs that broke and bayed again close by, then broke again. When I got to Buddy, the hog he had caught was trotting off through the brush with him hanging on an ear. It raked him off and he caught the shoat that Kate had. Keep in mind that Buddy is a pit and great dane cross that weighs about 100 lb. It was a good hog that he had caught, wish he could have held it. My buddy Jake was at the house when I got back and we made a run on the dairy next door. Red found a group and we ended up catching two of them. My pup LJ lined one out and bayed it by himself for the first time which made me really happy. He's been hunting about 12 or 15 times. We were done by 9:30 and had caught three hogs and should have been four. Sorry there are no pics, I can't flip hogs, catch dogs and take pics at the same time! lol
