What is the actual range yall are getting out of them? (Garmin gps tracking system) I have a friend that was looking to buy one but was wandering how far it tracks in real world situations.

A mile, maybe 1.2 in thick vegitation with the retro fit antenna from Valley Creek. We have swam rivers with it on also with no adverse effects on the collar. That is with the DC20 model.

The new model should work better. If you run curs it is a great system. If you run hounds stick with the old school.

You know, we've had cur dogs out several miles and bayed up... i'm not gonna risk losing my dogs over a tracking system that I can't track them with.

I think there's a lot of improvments that need to be made.

Wink mike me and you are on the same page. I almost lost sandy (cat gyp) with a regular tracking system if i had the gps my dog would have been lost. So i am sticking with quick track. Tried and True  Grin
