i need help on starting a new catch dogs. How do yall start new catch dogs do you take them to the bay with the other dogs or would start him in the pen.

I always start em in a pen sometimes you hafta let it see another dog catch I like to see if their even Gina do it be for I take em to the woods

pen 1st  this way u know wut the dogs gonna do when it sees a pig   after it catches in pen  break em and then try lettin the bay dogs bay it and turn him loose a few times  this way he learns that a bay means a hog is there and hell learn 2 answer a bay also  thats how i done my 2   but some catch dogs wont catch  dont wanna b in the woods bayin and the bulldog wont catch

coyote hunter i see where your coming from and i always take two pits with me or maybe three with two rcds. I would rather have more catch dogs then I would strike dogs. Ive been in some wrecks that almost got my whole pack killed so the rougher the dogs are the better off i am.

I am no expert but I have young dogs. I want my dogs to learn their lessons in a pen without the tusks. My cat got caught sideways and sent sent flying. If it was a boar he would have been gutted. Instead he kept baying. I have taken him in the woods but with a cut vest but the pen you can see what they are doing and control it a little better.

Start in pen , its a controlled settin, and run a vest in the woods if u want your dog to live !!!!

cathchdogs in a pen if they dont take right away flip the hog make him squeal or let another dog catch if its my dog and he dont catch within 5 min i cull

yeah  i dont se wating time on a catchdog  2 me either they will or they wont   theyre cheap  u can find 1 thatll go pretty much anywhere
