he will never grow out of it and shocking him would be kinda like someone shocking you every time you took a breath of air. It is just about that natural to him.

Just the hound in him. Wouldn't shock him if I were you - might break him off pigs.

Seen it work with hound crosses but you have to be consistent try it in the kennels first. And at the lowest levels so it doesnt hurt him but changes his thought process a little. Soon enough he will get the hint if not tune up the voltage little by little. When he goes to bay a hog let him. When he starts barking on track tap him with the same resistance as you did in the kennel hopefully he will put the two together. Takes time and patience sometimes we don't have either that's why they created different breeds though. JMO

MO. Dont even try to break the dog, expecially if its a hound, thats what they are supposed to do. everyonce in awhile you can run across a silent hound. but for the most part just about all of them are going to be open

My hound is silent until looking at a hog, if the hog breaks and she can still see his butt while running she full open, I dont mind it at all. If she was open while trailing that would be different, but trailing and sight chasing are 2 different things IMO. Its a hound, thats what they do, I dont think u would be able to break him of it

i had a bluetick that was silent till seeing hog...UNTIL he hit 1.5yrs, then he started opening everytime he hit a hot track. the hotter the more open. he's a hound, he may grow out of it, but i bet he will grow back into it again. just they way they were wired. my bluetick also like to run hogs. if they ever bayed up he would catch, but he liked chasing hogs. that's what hounds do, run and open.
