Has anyone ever had a puppy that piss's all over the place when you go to catch him.  This puppy is 7 months old now and really has never had any badd habits that I had to correct.  As far as barking in the kennels at night or fighting with other dogs, so it cant be because he is scared of me cause I aint had to correct him for nothin.  He aint timid toward me or my family and he cant stand a stranger so he aint scared of his shadow, but I just cant figure out this puppy.  I took him out in the woods the other day and put out some corn, it was his second time in the woods and I brought my brother with me and i can tell you  that puppy started booger barkin at him as soon as he saw him.  I dont personally like my dogs to be aggressive to anybody so I corrected him I just cant figure this puppy out.  help for his sake

I agree with 3-bdogs! I also have a female that I have been crossing with my lead dog for three years & she throws one or two of em everytime! All of the rest of the litter will be fine its just that one odd ball out of the bunch!

When I have a litter of pups I will not get rid of them until there about 6 or 7 months old. Because I want to get a peak on how there gonna do! That is how I pick the ones I want to keep. The cross I was talking about all the pups have made good helping dog or have made good solid hog dogs even the odd balls! I normally give the odd balls to my huntin buddy who has alot more patience than I do!

I like natural submissive behavior, those dogs will have great natural handle and mine are very rough dogs so it has no bearing on their hunting/ baying style. Most of my pups will booger bark at anything new they find, no matter if it is human an animal or a hay feeder, just means they can tell when something is out of place. So it looks to me like you have a nice pup to start.

Silverton, now that you mention the booger barking, he does do it a lot.  The only thing about this puppy that I dont understand is he aint started bayin yet.  He will booger bark at anything, he was barking at a white plastic bag that was rolling across the yard today. He has real good concentration on the horses in the pasture when they approach the dog pens, but he wont bark at a shoat even when I make him squel and with his momma in the pen bayin.  He does have a great handle on him and listens to me like he understands english, but the other shortages doesnt make sense to me cause the other ones in the litter is already in the woods huntin and bayin.  2 of em are straight catch dogs on hogs under 150. I just have never raised a puppy that has his demeanor, and it kind of puzzles me... I been real lucky in the past All the puppies that I have kept off the previous litters, have started pretty easy.. and never showed any type of aggression towards strangers or the booger barking issues...

i get a feelin , just from what i read , that given time he will either be the best all around dog out of the litter ,  or a 100% cull .

sorry , i know that didnt help much .

Give him time, he can easily be the best one you got. Had one given to me a few years back. Had to rope him to get him caught the first time. Not only did he piss all over me , but crapped on me too. He could care less about being touched. Let him out of the kennel and tell him to load. When you let him out of the dog box all he cared about was finding hogs. Never really knew if he was trying to please me or just hated hogs. Either way I was pleased. Bayed a big boar one night, fought him for several miles. Three out of four dogs came back with cuts. Never seen this dog again.

I quit putting my pups "inside" a pen with a hog couple years ago. Its to much preasure for some and can help form bad habbits as well as producing dogs that are to catchy. At 7 months he is still very young, I would just let him look from outside the pen and tag along on hunts and do what ever he wants. Don't worry the light bulb will come on, I have one exactly like him right now.
