Four guys who work for me and myself decided to head south to Port Aransas for a weekend of fall red fishing last Friday. On my way through Hallettsville I decided to pop in Cody's store and pick up a few items, finally meet Cody in person and just check the place out. After a nice visit, I returned to the truck with a handful of new merchandise (of which the new Devestator vest I'm very anxious to try).
Unfortunately when backing out of Cody's place, an older driver failing to recognize my guys in the road blocking traffic (jumping up and down and frantically waving his arms in the air) blew through and slammed into the rear of my boat at about 40 miles an hour. My baby (24' Majek) was launched into the air, knocked off the trailer and into the highway causing some pretty major damage to both the boat and trailer.
Cody was kind enough to help us through the ordeal by making some phone calls, offering moral support and helping to orchestrate a temporary repair that would have made Nascar proud. Fortunately no one was seriously injured and although a major inconvience, the vehicle and boat can be repaired and replaced. Amazingly we were able to get the boat back on the trailer and with the services of a mobil welder were able to limp it the rest of the way down.
Thanks again Cody. It was nice to finally meet you, and hopefully we can make a hunt sometime.

Bryant, Bummer about the boat. You didn't let Cody get out the pepto pink paint when doing the repairs did you? Speaking of the Devastator vest, I bought one, and it is being "customized" right now. Should have it out of the shop later this week

Sorry to hear about the boat. If my baby (majek RFL w/ TRP) got whacked I'd cry like a little girl. Glad no one was hurt.
