just wonering if anyone else has had the same problem .
i brought massacre a chest plate because she aint like lil roly she cant handle hogs as good as he could lol . anyway she is used to it she runs good in it and still smells scent and stuff but she is a little different in ways .
without the chest plate if she smells a scent she will jump off the ute run back and fourth once then take off in the bush and find the hog . but with the chest plate on she will smell scent jump off the ute an run around in circles on a scent run in the bush then run back to me run around in circles then run into the bush again . its confused me i cant figure it out .  she hasnt had a good success rate with the chest plate on .  she is 1 from 5 with the plate on before i had the plate on her she was 14 from 15 most of the hogs were with lil roly tho .  so here is all i can figure this may help people if they have the same problem .
maybe my dog realises the chest plate brings down her speed and stamina so she runs back and fourth over the scent to figure out how close it is so she knows if she can catch it or not .
maybe with the plate on she cant put her head as close to the ground as she would like so she may not get a good sniff of the scent but bein a ute finder this is not likely .
she rolls around in dirt dung pee etc so maybe the plate keeps scent on it and it confuses her and she smells scent off the plate half the time while trying to find a hog.
or maybe she just thinks that with the chest plate on she thinks its a training run maybe she thinks when i put the plate on her im training her im not sure  but this is all i can think of other than that im stuffed . if anyone has had this problem or might know what the problem is let me know

I dont know why but i have seen severel bay dogs not hunt right, or as good with a bay vest on, seems like if you are consistant they will eventually get used to it although i gave up on it. If i were hunting a one or two out dog like you are i would stick with it though, surely she will come around, try making her wear it around the kennell so she gets used to it and breaks it in.
