"Team White Death" Wink got their first free range catch today, and they are fired up!   Eased across an edge and caught sight of this boar slipping between heads from a couple hundred yds.    Results.... Shiner on one ear and Chub on the other

Real good for these pups but there was definitely no bay to them on this little boar....  it's gonna be ugly the first bad one they get on... right now they think they're Godzilla Grin  Shiner has a, for lack of better term, "scary" nose on her... it's looking like she is going to be a phenomenal strike dog.

Nice!  I too would like to know more about those pups.  They look fast as lightning!

They're 3/4 yellow cur(block head stock dog type) x 1/4 english pointer.(3/4 sister to my Snappa dog) Both sides of the family have been exclusive hog dogs for generations.   Mom and dad(both 75# dogs) are one out type curs that catch most everything unless its rank.  To this day they're both still catching hogs every night in south Florida.

Out of the last three litters(from 2 half pointer sisters) the majority of the pups are rough with a good nose, the only variables seem to be which dogs get the great nose(pointer influence) and which ones will bay(not very many Grin).

Oh, yeah, they are fast!

Thanks Des, well, neither of the parents have ever worn a cut collar in their life... and they're still alive and working.  Common sense tells me to at least run a cut collar but we'll see if they smarten up after that first cut.

Noah,

I got a vest that is perfect for running on RCD.  I will try to take some better pics of it and post it.  Hardly any restriction at all, if any.

Shawn,

I got it at R and P Outdoors in Mansfield, LA.  All they would tell me about them is that they are made in Oklahoma.  They fit real good, with the exception that they run a little big in the neck.  Brass eye holes throughout for cooling and got some thickness, but still light.  I don think that they will last as long as some, but they have worked pretty well so far.  I love how the vest lets the dog move and provides great protection at the same time.  Very hard to find in other vests.  I will know more after deer season.  That is when I put the vests through the real tests.

Looks good Joey, I'd like something more along the lines of this... which I'll probably go ahead and order when these pups mature out.

Thanks for pointing that out Ellis.... that's messed up Shocked  Grin  The pirhana pack is gonna have to wait a while... a yr long investment of time to find out if a yard full of ankle biters will produce.... may have to wait till I retire Grin

Thanks CullBuck, they're about 6.5 mnths right now... the mostly white one(Shiner) is the one I kept, she's chewed grooves in my aluminum dog box trying to get to tied hogs in the back....she's a little "hot" to say the least Wink     I'm gonna have to either ride her on top or get a muzzle.
