Ok Im sick of buying a pair of boots evey 6 months or so. I have been buying Rocky brand boots which are great for deer hunting and such but with the water we deal with hog doggin the soles seperate pretty fast. I was wonder what everyone else uses and if they last. Im thinking of buying the Muck boot with the heavy duty chaps sewn on from Valley Creek. Any suggestions and dont say Rocky because Im done with them.

If you figure it out then let me know! I go through them about the same way! I am going to use a good sturdy pair of wadding boots this year and see how I do. I know they look goofy as heck but if you every see me you will know why I just dont care! lol

http://www.schnees.com/I paid right @ 200 bucks  2 years ago for a pair, best boots I've ever worn. There high, but worth it, mine are the hunter II

I buy cheap boots and don't worry about them. I prefer a jungle boot so the water drains out. Some people try to keep their feet dry I gave up on that too. So I just get cheap and toss them when they fall apart. But buy more than one so you can let them dry out between uses. That makes any boot last longer.

Boy-howdy, them schnees are purty. I've got some monster calves though so I doubt they'd fit. I been contemplating getting some football kleats for hunting

T-bob My buddy wears'em and he is a hoss, were ya looking at the lace up's or there fancy boots? Great thing about'em is there built good enough to rebuild'em several times over. But they are priced on the high side

Iwas looking at the hunter 2's and if I could try a pair on I would prbably buy them as I used to love my WESCOS PACKERS but ive had 4 broken ankles since then and my legs are hard to fit  |

=/quote] Yea but cheap boots = hurt feet. Im a tall heavy guy and at the end of the day my feet hurt no matter what Im doing and dont need cheap boots helping with that. I hear the muck boots are comfortable any one use them? |

The muck boots I have don't give much protection for ankles I just wear a decent pair of areot laceups and like them they lace up tight and don't let me ankles role

I wear danner snake boots , there pricey but very comfortable and waterproof as long as you dont go over the top of them which I do alot

u may take it as a joke i hunt most of the time in flip flops but i level homes all day and the shovel and me draging my toes on the ground all day will tear up a pair in two months a 200 a pair is a lot every two months so i got sum walmart boots 4 months and counting

Yea the wicks are nice but I believe they quit making them. |

As long as you don't care about the look Alan, you've got lots of options for these: The Nite Lite Coon Hunter II  The Muck Woody Bayou  Cabela's Tundra Hip Boot    Valley Creek will add hips to muck boots and lacrosse boots, but they won't guarantee their waterproofing to be 100%   Cabela's Millenium Hunting Wader Jeans   |

Get you a pair of "Frog Legs". They're a pair of waterproof chaps on Muck boots. The ones I got were guaranteed waterproof. I love mine.

Get you a pair of "Frog Legs". They're a pair of waterproof chaps on Muck boots. The ones I got were guaranteed waterproof. I love mine.
Froglegs (they were called "froggies" in the older Dan's catalogs) are just like Valley Creek's in that Dan's uses Muck's and LaCrosse for the base, my undersanding is that the difference is that they do guarantee the waterproofing, but I could be wrong?  http://www.danshuntinggear.com/Boots_Sizing_Chart.html. |

I have the leather Lacrosse boots with the water proof chaps from valleycreek, and they are the chit!!! I have only had them about two months, so I dont know how well they hold up, but no problems so far. And it is great being able to hunt in shorts!
I have a pair of Danners' which are great also, but if you hunt around water the boots with the waterproof chaps are a must.

The Valley Creek Muck boots with the chaps are great and comfortable and are good in the water if you stand in water for a long period of time thats over the boot itself the chaps will leak a little bit but you have to stand in it for a bit though. I love mine and last for awhile from mine and other huntin buddys experience.
