I believe that is the point of the program TexasHogDog, To put a "dent" in the population. Which in turn would make hunting actually hunting and not catching. Which will produce better hogdogs! I'm in it for the dogs and what I know I can produce, I only see this program as another attempt to raise the bar for the dogs. It is proven fact the goverment has it's own agenda and unless everyone gets tired of it and votes private party, It will continue!

I agree... Smiley

think about this. how many ranches around your area dont allow hunting of any kind? and other ranches only allow traps, or guns or whatever they so choose. there will ALWAYS be somewhere the pigs can go as a refuge. and in that place they will breed and flourish and keep the cycle going.

i agree that certain places seem to have a dwindling number of hogs on them but i would venture to guess that if you stayed off of those places for six months to a year the pigs would come back in force. there is simply no way to eliminate all the hogs in my opinion. ill hunt using all methods until i'm proven otherwise

If the State of Texas wants pigs gone then there will be less restrictions on hunting. It will help all the hog hunters have a better image. I know I have to fight the negative image as I try to get places to hunt.

dont worry about it. i have learned that people dont want the hogs gone, they just like to talk about it. how many times have yall heard someone complain about there crops or fields rooted up. or there deer feeders knocked down and destroyed. or nothing but hogs on their game cams. you step in and say " hey i cant help you with that, i have hog dogs." and they say " no. dont want them dogs running all my deer off or chasing my cows." and im thinking they just said the hogs are running off the deer and causing problems for their cows. truth is they just like to talk.

i agree with tjr89   i was a farmer not long ago an hogs devastated our crops year after year   thats y i got into hunting so heavily  any of u try to b a farmer an a hunter!  thats an expense u dont wanna see. they will never extinct the hog population for many reasons so as hunters dont worry but as farmers i say worry cuz they may get hunted to smaller numbers but they will return in force again
