I am in the market for a digital camcorder, preferably a hard drive type.

This will be used both in the woods hunting and shooting video of our aussie dogs working sheep.  We need something that is compact and easy to use.

Any recommendations?

Well after doing as much reading about digital camcorders as my eyes could handle, I decided on one. Picked up a Panasonic HDD with 40gig HD and 42X optical zoom.

I have had good service from both Sony and Panasonic in years past, so that was a toss up for me. When I realized Circuit City had mislabeled the price on the Panasonic by about 85.00, that was the deciding factor for me.
