I have placed skulls on a red ant pile before it takes to long and the weather does some damage, I was told to wire one in a pond and let fish and turtles clean one up?? Anyone have a better way, this skull is from my pups first hog so I want to save it as best I can and really don't wanna try and scrape all the flesh off unless I have to.

Thanks

You clean it out with a knife then fire ants. If it takes more than a day or two you left too much meat on it.

Ok last time I just cut the head off and staked it down, it took 9 months  Tongue

Any other way other than the ants, I may not be able to go where they are anymore

get some salisoda salt. Not real sure where to get it a guy gave it to me. You get a deep pot to put on a turkey frier. skin the head then boil it for awhile. the salt turns all the meat into gel and it falls off the bone. the little that is left just scrape clean and then you can bleach it. one day and done.

cut off all you can with a knife, boil it in a pot of water.
pick it clean change the water ad peroxide and boil it again,  take a air hose and blow out all the cavities. might boil it again to get rid of grease.. the teeth will all come out but super glue them back in place.
that how i done the one in my profile.

I skin and clean off as much meat as possible. Then get a 5 gallon bucket with a lid, put the head in, cover with water, throw in a hand full of clothes soap and snap the lid on. Slosh it around and put it someplace where it can get as much sun as possible ( this works a hell of a lot faster in the summer )

All the meat will eventually fall of and then you drain off the water and be sure you do it so you can pick up all the teeth. Rinse with water until it comes clear and then put back in bucket, cover with water and add 2 -3 cups of bleach. Let soak about 3-4 days, take out and rinse again with a hose .

let it dry and it will be white as snow.

This is one of several hog and deer skulls I have done.

I just boil the piss out of it, I dont skin nothing. afterwards 50/50 bleach and water for a day after boiling, then glue the cutters with superglue because they will come loose.

I put one in a crab trap once, then boiled it in bleach / water works well but in Oklahoma I doubt you access to blue crabs. Just boil the sucker  Cool
