Just now posting this hunt cuz I just uploaded the pics. It was the first weekend in January though.

Me and Lindsay took a couple that we are good friends with hunting. Cody has been huntin with me before but this was his girlfriend Maeves first hunt. We went out to my families place to kick some dogs out. After we visited with my uncle (an old hog dogger) for a while we got the dogs ready and drove down to the creek. Kicked the dogs out, I had my dogo (soco), lacy, Lindsays deaf cat pup Hadley (we let him tag along a bit), and Axle a cur plott cross of my buddies that Im helpin him start.
Soon as I open the box Lacy and Axle are rollin. We start walkin up the creek, Lacy and Axle head strait up the creek cross it on a bend and stop about 700 yrds from us. Bayed up a boar about 230 lbs. Sent soco from about 150 yrds to shut him down.
After that we kick the dogs back out while were walkin down a fence line. We here them bayin in the pasture just over a hill. Bay breaks and axle and lacy runs a sow right at us. I let soco go and he hammers her head on. Soco and the sow walk through the fence and almost off a fifteen foot drop into the creek while were gettin the camera out. We leg her and get a few pics and kick the dogs out again.

They roll out across the next pasture to a tree line and start bayin. We move to them and I cut soco. Soon as I cut soco the bay breaks and the chase is on. They head about 1500 yrds from us through some thick stuff. Lindsay lost her headlamp earlier that week so me and Cody are the only ones with lights. It was slow movin and took us about 45 min to get there. We cross the winding creek three more times. We finally get within fifty yards of them and they are still bayed solid, but socos tracking collar keeps goin in and out? We dont here and squealin or gruntin, so I tell Cody to come with me and the girls to stay there and keep the deaf pup with them. Right after I open my mouth the fight was on, Axle yelps a but, lacy yelps, and then it is silent. I cross the creek and AXle comes to me, walkin on three legs with a giant cut on the back leg and the right side of his head scalped to his scull. I call Lacy as I walk towards where the hog was, she comes to me, I see soco sittin there surrounded by black hair hunched over shakin, cut up on both front legs and a big bite on his back leg and his trackin collar antenna is sliced off. His whole back end was bloated. I pretty much wanted to fall over and die right there. We were dang near three miles from the truck.

I call my uncle and tell him he is gonna have to come pick us up when we get to the cr. I unvest soco, pick him up and start the long walk out. I though he was gonna die right there, he was in shock and his gums were grey. I wasnt sure if he had collapsed a lung or was internally bleedin. Me and Cody took turns caryin him out and finally made it back a mile to the county rd where my uncle came and got us. We got back to my truck and rushed to the emergency clinic. Made it from Canton to Denton in and hour.

Once we get him there they give him fluid and oxygen and take some xrays. Luckily he was ok and just had several (7) deep air sucking wounds. Left him there for a while and went to the ranch to doctor Axle. Got him stapled up took Maeve and Cody home. By this time its 5:30 in the mornin and almos time to go pick up soco. We pick him up and take him to my moms old clinic to get sewed up.
Took the stitches out last tuesday, exercised him the rest of the week, and hunted him with Paul (Silverton Boar Dogs) on sunday. Hes back to 100%, catchin hard and goin from a long ways out.
