Jay has had this happen a couple of times, it sucks and yes does ruin a hunt. We did the same thing pulled them all out took us all night til wee hours in the morning....

an old timer once told me to paint the ends of the quills with turpentine , then cut the ends off , the n pull em . it lets the pressure off and they come out easier .

Seems like I heard that turpentine thing somewhere. Ive. Only seen one in my life, del rio last year spring turkey season and I didn't get near it. I don't think we have them down here in brazoria county, but my dogs love to get stupid on skunks.

That does look very painfull . One time I was riding bikes around Doss and almost hit one crossing the road . I can't imagine hitting one of those at 60 mph.

Ill just say that all of our dogs are now porcupine broke and dont want anything do with one anymore....have spent plenty of night pullin quills out....and it does just ruin a hunt

i have had this happen and I took one of the dogs to that same place it happen and he stayed on pigs. hope the dogs are ok.
