Friday night my wife and I were eating supper and I was loaded up, fixing to go hunting, when I heard a truck skid on the gravel road in front of the house and heard a dog holler. I knew it was Buddy because he was the only one loose. When I got to him I could tell he was done. He was turning into a good rcd or lead in dog and was just 2 and a half years old. He was pretty much a member of the family and my wife cried all weekend. He never chased cars, I have no idea what caused him to run out there except the truck had no muffler and sounded like an angry bumblebee, maybe the sound bothered him. He spent all day Friday like he did every day, in the back of the truck while I worked and on the porch by the front door. He was a good one and had a one of a kind personality. RIP Buddy!

Heah, it was my neighbor that hit him, he was working on the truck and took it for a test drive. It was right at dusk and he couldn't see him or stop and there was no place to swerve. He felt horrible, he has dogs and would have missed him if he could, so I don't blame him. Besides, he drives by all the time and he never chased him before so he wasn't expecting it.

Sorry, it don't make it better but I feel your pain. You know he tried to stop because you heard the slide. Yeah I had a dog run right out in front of my truck I almost slid into the ditch. I felt so bad. I have lost a couple that way too.
