They are probably not very well liked around this site lets just put it that way. My personal opinion is that its like stealing someones child and in would be shot for it Grin

Only a few things worse than a thief, and a dog thief is worse. Like a kidnapper or child molester.

I look at it like back in the old west days. Dogs to me are my livestock. Back then when someone stole another persons live stock it was the death penalty. The only way I pick up a dog is if it's starved down and has no id on it what so ever and with that I'm even still leary. but to come up in my yard and take one of my dogs the person has a big pair. especially if it's sometime that I'm around or they live near by. Everyone around me thinks my dogs are vicious anyways so I haven't had a problem with it yet thank goodness.

A thief is pretty low because he has to be a liar to be a thief...

Ok here's my problem there is alot of dogs that just run loose in my neighbor hood, some of them just don't look good wormy skinny sickly, I have wormed females with pups and tried to feed pups in my yard that need it, so if I take a dog and give it to a friend who will take care of it am I a dog thief ? I haven yet but it has crossed my mind twice a red bone pup that ended up getting ran over and a beagle pup that I feed every day that belongs to my neighbor I know It's stealing but where do u draw the line?

I lost dogs and other property to thieves, my opinion only the worse than a thief is a child molester or a murderer.

My grandfather put it to me this way when I was real young.  "If you'll lie, you'll cheat, and if you'll cheat, you'll steal, and there isn't anything worse than a thief"

I think there is a difference in stealing a dog out of a mans yard and "keeping" a starving stray. I'm not condoning any theft here by no means. Crap I'm a Federal police officer and arrest thieves for a living. But I hate watching an animal starve at the same time.
