Just wondering if anybody has crossed a pit with a bird dog and if so how they hunt. Thinking to make this cross, put a fast RCD on the ground.

I was about to make this cross but my gsp died. So I'm settling for half stag half pit cross. I would make it and keep atleast four pups to try out that way you have a chance to cull one or two you don't like.

Any cross keep the puppies close so how many turn out. It is not so much the breeds as the dogs. It seems you make a good cross and then try it with two new dogs of the same breed it does not turn out the same. But I am not good at crossing like some. Problem with that cross is that some bird dogs have been the most temperamental dogs I ever saw. Then cross that with a pit and the aggressiveness will be blamed on the pit. I think using an American Bull or a Dogo may be better. But that is worth what you paid for it. I want to do an EP/Dogo cross down the road. So if you do it let us know how it works good or bad.
