A well bred mtn cur doesn't need any hound help... Smiley

A "good" hound doesn't need any cur help.  We can talk all day about what breeds are best, but it all depends on the qualities that a specific dog possesses.  I've used hounds, BMCs, and all kinds of crosses and had some nice dogs and some culls.  I've had hounds that were good bay dogs and curs that were good strike dogs.  It's that magical dog that can do both that everyone is looking for.  I really don't believe there is a certain combination of breeds that makes that magical dog, if there was, every hog hunter in the world be hauling the same color dogs.
