I was wondering if any of you guys have ever dealt with Red Ravine Dogo Kennels or Louis Beck ?

Anybody own or hunted with any of their stock ?

On the website it says, "We have litters available throughout the year." I don't like that. It took me a year and a half to get my first Dogo pup because the good breeders have waiting lists. I was told to never buy from someone that had the puppy on the ground because if they were good dogs they would be sold before they were born.

Now will his dogs hunt? I have no idea. I am not saying anything good or bad about them. But I would say to not get in a hurry. Get a dog that will meet your needs.

I am going to apologize to JC2 and deviate from his question a bit to address this thought of yours.

THATS is not always the case and for VERY GOOD reasons, not all breeders produce puppies to sell, I know breeders who produce dogs for themselves and their kennels FIRST and then sell the rest which means that not only do they have litters on the grnd but also have older dogs since the older the pup the more its shows you and you are able to see in him/her his/her qualities--- one CANNOT judge folks for that and or throw blanket statements without knowing details or knowing the motivation of the particular breeder.

I may have one litter a year BUT ---ALL the puppies are MINE and NOT for sale until I select MY puppies FIRST then I cull or sell the rest, I may have a few interested folks but I am not looking for “costumers” AND there is NO price on the selection---selection/pick of the litter is MINE.

A “ breeders list” is not my motivation to have a litter or two or two hundred.  This train of thinking is what keeps a lot of GOOD people from breeding their GOOD DOGS--- which in my personal opinion is as bad OR WORSE for the/any breed as those folks who are breeding their culls.

You have a GOOD ANIMAL??? Breed it and see if he/she is as good in the box as she/he is in the woods.

"Red Ravine Dogo Kennels"

I just copy/paste the four words above and first link was their site.   I think the .com on a google search gets it too specific at times.

Oly I did not mean any kind of disrespect. I know there are different ways of doing things. I bet if I was buying a dog from you I could go hunt with it. I also bet the people that buy a dog from you know you or your reputation. If I don't know the guy, can't go hunt with his dogs I am not likely to get a Dogo from them. I started talking to people and seeing how their Dogos turned out. Anybody can say they have good dogs but I want to know what other people are saying about the dogs.

Now about you Oly. I have never heard about Red Ravine but have heard about your Dogos. I never heard anything bad your dogs or your breeding. I have heard you have some really good Dogos. So I would not care if the puppy was on the ground or not.

I think JC2 is doing the right thing asking if anybody knows the guy. He may have some really good dogs, he may not. But I would say go find someone that has Dogos that you like. I wanted a big Dogo. You might want a smaller one. If you want to marry a girl you look at her momma. I have also seen strange buying agreements. They may work for or not so be sure to ask about everything.

Like every breeder I have my share of failures and successes I do not pretend to say ALL my Dogo’s are jam-up what I do is TRY HARD and if I first do not succeed I get my ass BACK on the horse make it right for those folks and do it again CLEANING right after myself,  What is funny is the fact that my best Dogo’s are being hunted by friends who paid LITTLE to NOTHING for them as I believe it should be.

Folks like Marvin and a few others I know are real consistent with their whites and are GOOD people but even if they sell a pup or two they are not in it for the money they take their time to get good dogs and pay good money for them dogs then they bust their butts hunting them--- that is really what it is all about.

Dub I do not mean to be rude or an AH but I truthfully do not care what folks say about me, I am however happy to hear that good things of my dogs is being said ---they are a work in process and I have a LOOOOONG way to go.

JC2 if you are looking for a good quality Dogo I would go ahead and hit up Marvin and I believe Paul has been planning a litter for sometime that should make some great dogs out of that Adora bitch of his he got from Marvin--- if not I also know a few guys in Texas making some nice Dogo puppies out of proveen stock GOOD HONEST PEOPLE--- you can hit me up via PM on this site and will give you names and e-mails, IF you wish.
