Not sure if this was reported before or not but I just saw it. What do you guys think. Looks like the basic new features are it will have a revamped antenna that will provide 9 miles of coverage over flat terrain. improved 3 axis compass. 20 hr battery life. built in 1.7 GB of memory and a better display that is capable of showing satellite maps in addition to the regular topo maps the 220 unit shows now.

Looks cool enough. what do you guys think?

Here are some links I found:

I was on a waiting list for one, but now that I heard that Garmin has acquired Tritronics, I think I am going to wait a bit. I get a funny feeling there will be a combo GPS/telemetry system released in the next 12-18 months...just a hunch though.

The three features I'm most excited about are the sat maps of course and the extended range, but I'm really excited about the 3 axis compass.  I was out this morning and was trying to get a fix on a dog that was out at 900 yards.  One, I kept loosing her signal and 2nd, when I'd re-aquire the signal, I'd have to wait for the compass to orient itself.  Very frustrating!   At first glance you'd want to follow the pointer right?  I'd start to follow the pointer since it's supposedly pointing directly at her, then as I take off I'd take a second look and realize it's pointing south, but I'm heading north?   There is a lag time for it to correctly align itself and in the heat of battle, this gets frustrating.   If the 3 axis compass works as advertised, that problem should be solved?

Im really looking forward to the Google earth realtime technology that will allow to zoom in on the dogs location via satellite real time to view the game they have bayed and decide wether or not its worth crossing fences and rivers to get to. Also the new voice correction feature to speak to your dogs thru they're collars is pretty rad too.

I'd have to say the best one though is the one that will allow you to post screenshots and photos to the internet thru tapatalk. That way when you put a dog in re classifieds you can post his track stats and real time videos of hogs he's been on.

I know right, sounds too good to be true almost. Just wait till they release the " kinetic 1.0" its an implant, that recharges itself based on the dogs movement and will eliminate dog theft!

Being an internet hog hunter has its perks! I think some other guys on here were testers too.
