i have a curr pup who is six mnth old male who if  you put him in the pen with a hog will lay down and want no part of it lol some of his siblings have started and his parents are both jamm up dogs any suggestions on getting him started

just keep working him with another dog that will bay, sometimes they wont show any interest and then the next time they could be all over that hog

One of my dogs was like that until I grabbed it by the back leg and it started squeeling and then it was up hill from there

ive done the whole squeeling thing about a month ago i took him hunting and just let him ride in the back of the truck to just get a feel for it and the damn 200 pound boer got loose and bit the number 2 out of him so now he is scared number 2less

 Try tiein him outside the pen where he cant see whats goin on.  put a dog in the pen that will bark at one and one that will catch it.. that way he can hear a bay, a dog caught and the pig squealin.  but hes still young might take a little longer for him to turn on.

get you a live trap catch a coon and let it bay at that , i;ve yoused it alot after it gets to baying that coon switch it over to small pigs . its easy enough to make em quit bayin coons after they start bayin pigs ,this worked for me after i sold a pair of pups to some guys that knew all about hog bayin and huntin well long storie short they broke them pups from even wantin to look at a hog i got em back at 9 months and thats how i re-educated them. they turned out to be dang fine dogs...
