OK.  So I finally figured out how to get pictures out of my phone into my computer.

I had planned a hunt with me and 3 other friends for Sunday morning.  One had another family obligation and the other two were sick all night.  I decided to take the dogs for a quick walk and they ended up finding 2 pigs.

The yellow dogs ran out of sight and I heard Peanut, "yip."  That musta scared the little pig, cause the next thing I know here comes a little red pig (about 30#) running straight at me with Molly, Peanut and Belle right behind.  Molly grabbed her back leg and rolled her about 10 yds. in front of me.  I stuck her and the curs were off again.

I heard Peanut, "yip" again and a few seconds later here goes a blonde pig (about 50-60#) crossing left to right about 50 yds out.  This one ran about 300 yds. to the edge of some water and they bayed up.  I let Achilles and Baby go so they could have a little action.  Stuck this one and was ready to leave.  Apparently the curs had other plans.  The corner of the property I was in is about 500-600 acres and from the tracking system they were chasing pigs all over it.

It took me the better part of an hour to get the three of them back on leads and get out of there.

Belle was acting strange.  She would just follow me about 5 yds back.  I was telling her to get out and hunt but there she was, 'til we got into an area where there were pigs then she took off.  We did make a tough hunt Saturday night and she was acting like her left rear foot or leg may have had a problem.  I also found out that she's sneaky and bull headed.  On the way out she flopped on the ground and acted like she had heat stroke.  I took off her collar and she immediately jumped up and took off just out of reach.  Took me a couple of minutes but I got her back on lead.  We had a come to Jesus meeting and everything seems fine now.  Just let her know she's not running the show. She's got a week to rest til the Cuero hunt.

Belle the turd

Saw something curious.  This is a Oak tree of some sort.  The teeth marks look like the lower front teeth of a fairly good sized hog.  Probaly 1 1/2" across each bite mark.  Any ideas?

All in all we had a good time.

Achilles is about 110# now, at 19 mos..  He's a genetic freak.  Too big for a Dogo and both eyes ice blue.  If he keeps improving like he has been, I'll keep him anyway.

I think your tree may be from beavers, I have never seen a tree chewed up like that before though....pretty interesting.  Good hogs and pics, keep hunting them and they will start working as a good pack.

I don't think there are beavers around Ft. Bend county.  And the tree didn't appear bitten into.  There were also several other trees in the immediate area in various stages of healing from the same type chewing.

There are definitely beavers in Ft. Bend County and I think they use the larger trees to mark on....
