Had a hunt lined up with my son and couple buddies of his and they all backed out on me. I think they got a wiff of something else and got off track and trashed on me. I guess that happens when you're 19. LOL .  But this ol hound stayed on track and continued the plan.  So I went hunting ALONE AGAIN .  Started out kinda slow. It was HOT and DRY . Finally the dogs picked up a scent and ran for a little over half a mile and lost it. After gathering up the dogs and continuing on I swapped out dogs and ol Boots struck and the other dogs went to him.  They ran him for a few minutes and made it to the water and bayed up. I cut my young dogo gyp ( Laura ) loose and she shot to em like a rocket. I gave her about a 30 second head start and then turned De'Angelo loose.  It wasn't long and I heard the hit and grunting then grunting went to squealing.  I got down in the water with em and tried to get some action shots but it didnt work out to well .  It was a nice little boar about 120 lbs . Taking action shots, Legging, sticking, and geting dogs to roll out when your alone and in the water at night isnt the easiest thing to do. LOL  .  The curs rolled out and Knuckel headed De'Angelo would release for nothing. While trying to get him off the curs had another bay going about 300 yards. De'Angelo could hear them and would perk up his ears and roll his eyes and look there direction but wouldnt let go fo Chit . LOL  After about 10 Minutes of choking him off he FINALLY slipped his grip. But the other bay had already broke and they were off to the races.  The dog had crossed over on a piece of property that I havent gotten permission to hunt on so I just loaded up the dogos and just sat and waited and listed . Bay and break bay and break for the next 2 hours. once again, by the time I got home the sun was coming up. LOL

Marvin

Its tough for us old guys to hunt with them young bucks.  Keeping up is the issue.  What I mean is I get tired of looking over my shoulder wondering if they are keeping up with me.  I really hate it when they get lost in the dark and us old giuys have to go fetch em, even tie a dog lead to em all a blubberin cryin and such and lead em in the dark to safety.  They just don't make hog hunters like they used to!  LOL!!!!    Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin

good job man. You sure got dedication, as hot as it is right now, I would have just called it a night if the other guys all canceled on me.
