Muddogkennels, what, if any faults have you found in the lil devils? Are there any areas you would like to see your jagds improve? How do you feel about them in water?

As far as water, they simply can't keep up with the cur breeds swimming river, baying in middle of deep tank, swampy areas, etc. They love water and can swim great, just no comparison to a longer legged dog in/around water.

Cons: ours stay kenneled and they are very yappy, extremely territorial, ours can be hauled in dog box and hunted with other dogs no problem, but they will bow up and fight any other dog in there area at home, males and females, they dig like crazy, hard to trash break. I wouldn't compare their nose to any of the cur breeds, they do have good noses, but their drive outdoes their nose any day. Never fails that you are taking someone new hog hunting and one of the little turds trashes on skunk, diller, etc. right off the bat. All that said, couldn't hunt without them.

They are fearless and can run all night/day long.  If your Jagds have a better nose than any cur/cat, then why do you say they are good to help with your strike dogs, why not have your Jagd as your strike dog?
