You do have freedom of speech but your employer has a right to distance itself from you if you go too far publicly. While I think it was a stupid thing to say and I think ESPN's response was stupid. First somebody should tell him the two people did not live at the same time. But I see he was taking his example to an extreme to make a point. I think he was insensitive and if any one of us went on TV or anywhere and compared any president to Hitler we could expect to get fired. But since when are entertainers experts on political policy? They all say and do stupid things. Sometimes it is entertaining.

You are right he never compared he only made an analogy. I think it was just shooting from the hip and he would not have said it if he had really thought about it. I actually understand what he was trying to say. I think it only lacked in sensitivity because he was on TV.

heres a thought , when a liberal says something out of line ( and a lie ) that is " controversial " it's good for ratings . and they dont get fired .
