So my GSP torn both front foot pads on the quail opener. I put some Tuf-Foot on it today. I was going to put some Tuf-Foot or some bag balm on it tomorrow. I tried to bandage it with some vet wrap but he just would chew the wrap off the second I left him alone. I also am planning on just trying to keep him confined to his crate as much as possible for a couple days. Anything else I should do?
He tore the big center pad at the front edge (by the toe pads) on both front paws.

I worked for a huntin lodge and if the tear or cut wasnt too bad we would just boil it out than super glue it.

I've seen this happen from time to time when a hog bays in palmettos. Palmettos can be sharp along the edge of the leaves, and the stalk is serated. I let the dogs clean it, and give them a break for a couple weeks.

We hunt stuff we call cut grass which is a cattail think that's what u heard and get pads cut all the time and yes super glue works works wonders just tear you some leaves from a tree rip them super glue the cut shut then pour the glue on the leaves and stamp the dogs foot in it it acts like a second pad and works good for us if we need to run the dog

For minor tears like your describing, I just put a little neosporin on it when I'm done using them for the night. I never keep them put up or anything special. If they aren't limping on them then it is not too bad and no need to worry about it.
