A buddy of mine was contacted by a guy whos dad owns a local dairy farm that has had some recent hog activity. The guy used to hog hunt but had to sell out due to moving out of state for work a year or so ago. He recently moved back to the farm and has shot a few hogs within the past couple of weeks. We set up to meet him around 7:30 last night so we could have dogs on the ground by 8:00. I had my dogs Joker, Whelen and rookie cd Dirty. My buddy JM brought his catahoula Remi. We walked through field after field and didn't see the first hog sign.  All the dogs were making about 350 yard circles but never could work anything out. Around 11:00 we were about to call it a dry run and started headed back toward the truck when Joker started baying in the first field we walked through when we got there. I heard Remi and Whelen get there and both went to baying then quite..a few grunts then a couple yelps and back to baying.  Undecided Those three normally can handle themselves so I figured he must be decent and all you could smell was boar hog. I turned Dirty loose from about 75 yards and waited for a few seconds and then a loud yelp then bushes breaking then quite again.  Another 50 yards they had him caught. I ran in and legged him while the rest of the crew came in to help flip and tie him and pull dogs off. The dogs took a few good hits so we got them doctored up and took a few pics. The owner decided he wanted to stick him and give the meat to a family needing some help with groceries. We didn't weigh him but I'm guessing around 250 with 1 3/4 teeth.
