IF THE DOGS NEVER SEEN A PIG I JUST LET A DOG BAY THE PIG FROM OUTSIDE THE PEN IF THE PIGS SMALL. AFTER THE DOG IS INTERESTED I WILL CHAIN HIM UP RIGHT OUTSIDE THE PEN AND LEAVE THE DOG TO FROTH AT THE MOUTH FOR A WHILE

yeah being an old coon hunter i train my hog dogs just like i trained my coon hounds except for the treeing part . you can even pour a bucket of water on the pig and drag the cage through the woods a bit and have them go and find it .

What's with the water? Does it leave a stronger scent trail?

yea it helps the scent stick to the grass, trees whatever the pig touches

the reason for the water is that it drip off of the pig and leaves a trail . becuase the pig in the cage doesn't hardly ever touch the ground to leave a scent trail . that is how i started doing it now i just hide a caged pig and drag a piece of hog hide to the cage and then go turn the pups out
