Well finally got my MLD permits yesterday so today I was dying to go shoot doe for my pup.  She is around 8 months old but i have only had her about a month and a half, she is a Bmc x walker cross, I have been working her on liver only for a couple weeks.  Well today I shot a doe with the 223 and I didn't see her go down.  Got my pup off and I couldn't find any blood, I noticed her licking the sand and saw a speck of blood, I had her on a leash and she started taking while I was incouraging her on, she got very excited so I let her go.  She took off to where I couldn't see her anymore behind a big mesquite.  I make the turn and see her chewing the heck out of the does mouth.   After about 10 mins of praise I gutted the doe and let her chew on the insides.  Very proud.

well went out yesterday and shot another doe,  waited about 15-20 mins and went to go look.  Took her downwind and she started hunting, i couldn't find blood but she kept leaving and coming back, after the 3rd time she stayed gone, went about 60 yards and barked twice.  I got to her and she had the doe which was alive by the nose.  Hopefully by the end of the season I might have a good dog!
